Do I need prior river running experience?

NO! You just need to be ready for an adventure!

How many people will be on the trip?

Our trip maximum is 24 guests, and we don't have a set minimum. On average, our trips have 12 to 16 participants.

My trip starts in Salmon and ends in McCall: how will I complete my round trip?

If you're flying to Idaho, fly into Boise prior to 4 pm the day before your launch. Schedule a short charter flight with Gem Air to bring you to Salmon that afternoon (~$260). For our June, July, and August 3rd trips, also schedule a flight to Boise from McCall for the morning after our trip ends (~$260).

If you're driving, drive straight to Salmon Idaho the day before your launch. Schedule a flight with Gem Air back to Salmon from McCall after the trip to begin your travel home (~$260). Alternatively, you could have your vehicle shuttled from Salmon to McCall for ~$500 plus fuel.

No and no! However, paddling does make the trip a bit more memorable and exciting. Hiking will lead you to even more incredible views and is a great way to spend a day that we get into camp early.

Do I have to paddle? What about hiking?

Whitewater rafting is a service industry, and tips are a greatly appreciated way to reward your guides for exceptional care. If you choose to tip, 10 to 20 percent of trip cost is a good guideline. Cash or check is the best way to handle gratuities. If you give your tip to the lead guide, it will be distributed evenly amongst the crew. Tips are not expected, but always appreciated.

What about gratuities?

What is the Reservation, Payment, Refund and Cancellation Policy?

Reservations and Payment: A deposit is required to reserve trip spaces. Your deposit can be paid by cash, check, or credit card. Full payment for your trip is required 90 days prior to launch. Reservations made less than 90 days prior to launch require payment in full. All invoices must be paid in full prior to your trip. If YJRG cancels your trip due to "acts of god," including, but not limited to water, weather, fire, epidemic or other environmental or safety conditions, no refunds will be given.

TRIP INSURANCE MUST BE PURCHASED TO PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT.

Charter Trips: A deposit of 40% is required to reserve the launch date. Full payment for your trip is required 120 days prior to trip date. Reservations within 120 days of the launch date require a 40% deposit to hold the space and full payment is required within fourteen days. All invoices must be paid in full prior to your trip. Due to the limited number of launches available, all payments will be forfeited for charter cancellations made within 120 days of your launch. Prior to that time, cancellations will be assessed 40% of trip price.
